Cabs 4 Kids focuses specifically on catering to the unique transportation needs of Families. We provide seamless journeys to get your child or family safely from A to B in Christchurch and Selwyn areas.

How did we start?

Lisa Smith

Cabs4kids-Family Cabs is owned and operated by Lisa Smith, a dedicated working parent living in Selwyn. Juggling her children’s activities with her own responsibilities was often a challenge, and she quickly realized that to support her kids in reaching their full potential, she needed a reliable transport solution. Lisa wanted a service specifically designed to meet the unique needs of children—one where drivers were not only highly vetted but also skilled in engaging with young passengers in a positive, caring way.
At the time, Lisa was managing Baxters Buddies, a Before and After School care service in Halswell, which already operated vans for morning drop-offs and afternoon pickups. Seeing an opportunity to better serve the needs of local families, she expanded her service to include transporting children to extracurricular activities such as gymnastics, swimming, and music lessons. This marked the beginning of Cabs4kids-Family Cabs, a service built on her commitment to making life easier for busy families while providing safe, dependable transport for children.

Family Transport

With the opening of the borders in 2022, Cabs4kids developed further into providing family transfers to and from the airport. We always ensure that infant, toddler or booster sears are fitted before each journey, there are toys and games to keep your children happy, and we have blankets and pillows for those early morning flights. Our drivers are caring and friendly, and many are parents themselves. We also provide chaperone services for new parents for shopping and appointments.

Our Team

Our professional team of drivers, who enjoy working with children and families, are chosen carefully. All our drivers are police vetted, this includes a Child/Youth check, and have a minimum of 5 years of driving experience.

When do bookings need to be made?

As soon as possible, to avoid disappointment. Cancellations can be made up to 48 hours before a booking. However, if cancellations are within 48 hours 50% of your booking fee will
We can also accommodate daily bookings, and an EFTPOS machine will be available in the vehicle for the customer’s use.
Vans (10-12seater) requires 5 days notice.
